Recipe for Chicken and Pasta Primavera

Pasta has a poor reputation, but the fact is that it is one of the most acceptable alternatives for a dinner that is both low in calories and filling. Because it satisfies all of our preferences for tastes and textures in a single dish, chicken primavera is one of our go-to options in the meal plan that we follow. We don’t need to prepare a separate side dish, nor do we need to worry about dirtying several different dishes. It is a delicious dish that can be prepared quickly and is perfect for supper or lunch on the lighter side.

This primavera is undoubtedly one of our favorite recipes for lighter pasta dishes; it’s right up there with this simple zucchini spaghetti with pesto sauce. It’s simple to make, packed with flavor, and suitable for children. When creating a meal plan, every parent wants all of these things.

  • 1 lb Chicken breasts with no skin nor bone

  • 1 tablespoon minced Garlic

  • 1 cup of Spinach

  • 1 1/2 Cup Chicken stock and lemon juice mixture

  • 8 ounce pasta of choice

  • 1/2 cup diced Carrots

  • 1/4 cup Olive oil

  • 1 cup of sliced cherry tomatoes

  • 1 cup Mozzarella (Sometimes we'll slice Mozzarella Pearls)


  • Cook the pasta following the instructions on the package. 
  •  Drain the pasta, retaining a half cup of the cooking water and setting it aside.
  • Season the chicken breast with salt and spice after cutting them into bite-sized pieces or strips and setting them aside.
  • When the olive oil in the large skillet has reached a medium temperature, put the chicken in the skillet.
  • Cook the chicken for 8-9 minutes, tossing it often until it has a light browning on the outside, and then remove it from the pan.
  • The spinach should be added to the pan and given an extra minute of cooking time.
  • After adding the spinach, garlic, and tomatoes and stirring them together, finish the dish with the chicken stock, lemon juice, and a half cup of reserved pasta water.
  • Bring to a boil, then get back the chicken to the pan and simmer for 4-5 minutes, or until it is fully cooked.
  • Include the cooked pasta in the mixture. After adding the cheese, continue stirring the mixture until the cheese has melted and everything is properly blended.
  •  To serve, top each portion with extra cheese and fresh parsley that has been chopped.


  • Feel free to add Parmesan, splash of wine, basil, parsley, or mushrooms.

Primavera, which translates to “springtime,” is the Italian term for the season. This meal may be prepared at any time of the year; however, it is most often chosen during the spring and summer months when veggies are at their most vibrant and flavorful. Today, it most often refers to a pasta meal that incorporates seasonal vegetables, although it is still appropriate for consumption at any time of the year.


The traditional components of primavera are cheese, veggies, pasta (of any sort), and spaghetti with a light sauce. You have complete control over which varieties you use, but you can make the dish as light as you want or make it more decadent by adding Alfredo sauce and other melting cheeses.


Which Vegetables Should Be Used in the Chicken Primavera Recipe?

In general, you are free to use whatever vegetable you prefer in place of the ones called for in this recipe; however, the preparation time may vary depending on the vegetable. The following are some of my absolute favorites:


  • Summer squash or zucchini.
  • Leeks, shallots, onions, and celery.
  • Mushrooms.
  • Asparagus.
  • Either broccoli or cauliflower.
  • Sugar snap peas or snow peas.


In this dish, it is important to use something that everyone in your household likes eating. If you do not like the taste of mushrooms, do not consume them. Your family may eat a few veggies or maybe even a dozen. You may use anything you want to create a nice supper from this one dish.

Can I use Zoodles to make Chicken Primavera?


It is possible to prepare this meal with zucchini noodles. Instead of cooking pasta, add the zoodles to the pot in the last three to four minutes before serving. This will ensure that they are heated all the way through. The fact that you don’t have to cook zucchini noodles to make them extraordinary, supple, and soft is one of the things I like most about this vegetable. Instead, they prepare a nutritious and delectable dinner in a matter of minutes using just a moderate amount of heat.
