  • 28 oz Chicken thighs without skin and bones

  • 1 cup Plain yogurt

  • 1 1/2 minced garlic

  • 1 tablespoon ginger

  • 2 teaspoons of Garam masala

  • 1 teaspoon Cumin

  • 1 teaspoon Paprika

  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder

  • 1 teaspoon Salt

  • 2 tablespoons of Butter

  • 1 teaspoon Coriander

  • 14 oz. of Tomato puree

  • 1 1/4 Heavy Cream (Carnation milk is a great alternative)

  • 1 teaspoon Sugar

  • 4 tablespoons of Cilantro

  • Mix the chicken pieces with plain yogurt, minced garlic, grated ginger, garam masala, cumin, paprika, chili powder, and salt in a large bowl until everything is well mixed.
  • Cover and set aside for 30 minutes (For more flavor packed sensations, marinade the meat overnight)
  • Over medium heat, heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet. Add the chicken still in the marinade, and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring every so often. At this point, the chicken is not yet done.
  • Take the chicken out of the pan and set it aside. Now, add the butter and onions to the pan. Mix and prepare for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Stirring constantly, add the garlic, ginger, garam masala, cumin, paprika, and coriander, and cook for one minute.
  • Pour the tomato puree, chili powder, and salt into the bowl, and then stir to mix.
  • Mix the mixture while you add the heavy cream, sugar, and water
  • Now, put the chicken back in the skillet, turn the heat down to low, and let it simmer for another 7–8 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and the chicken is done. Stir this often as it cooks.
  • With your preferred veggies and a garnish of fresh cilantro, serve your chicken tikka masala over rice.
